I always like big screen monitor so I am very much comfortable using my 21” PC at home. I used to have two (2) monitors so I can enjoy updating the blog and at the same time running my software tools on the other monitor. When I moved to a smaller apartment I don’t have much space for working desk.
After sometime I need a laptop that I can be flexible to work and play wherever I go but I am not really into Apple or those fancy gadgets. It took sometime before I can have another laptop.
Thank goodness I found the HP Envy 17” inches laptop on Amazon. You read it right, it’s freaking 17” inches. It looks massive and yeah, also heavy.

Here’s how it looks like. I took some photos to unbox it.
(the Co-foundersblog.com is a former name of my blog. I disregard it and now using Startup-nomad.com).
Here’s the box from Amazon. It was delivered to the parents’ lake house (receiving package outlet).
(Dad collected it for me. Thanks!)
The packaging looks neat.
It’s big that it occupied half of the space in this center table.
When I opened it I super love the design. It looks neat.
For gadgets, I only like silver, black or a certain colour of pink. This colour looks cool.
It’s also not thick.
The keyboard is slim and well-designed.
And here’s me at the family’s boat. I hang out here so I can test the sounds system when I am outdoor and it wasn’t bad. I also tried the screen display during day and night time and it looks good. My favourite is the graphics display because I can edit photography on Lightroom (VSCO) without exaggerating the colours and filter because I can see the resolutions in clear display.
The processing to work on HP Envy is fast, plus the keyboard is not bulky, and the design is similar to Apple. The only trouble is the weight; it is heavy to carry it. The weight is bothering me because I take train in Singapore on a daily basis for public transport and with my 3” heels, it is not easy to carry heavy gadgets with me.
The design, graphics, screen display, sounds system, and processor are perfect. The only issue I have is the weight as I dislike carrying heavy stuff. However, it is a good option if I don’t want to use my CPU.
I went back to the cabin to make my lunch. I found a few veggies and meat and I mixed it together with barbecue sauce. It tastes good.
I love summer and the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. I think if I am not doing startup in Singapore, I don’t mind to live in the states. I probably buy an affordable lake house; have a boat and just nomad my work online. However, the challenge is the access to fast Internet which is not advisable if you are running a tech company. I am really torn between finding a permanent residence and the desire to operate a tech business.
I need to leave the cabin at 2pm to have drinks with the ladies at the nearest resort bar. Dad drive me to the resort and picked me up at 6pm, yo! I never been to a bar as early as 2pm and go home at 6pm. He was worried it will be too dark to come back by 8ish.
Chillin’ in the cabin with a view of the lake. It’s peaceful at home.
The family makes special brekky he called it “double jumbo”. Haha Basically it’s two layers of fried eggs with a bun. It’s not about the eggs it is about his love waking up early just to make breakfast for everyone.
After brekky I went to the nearest grocery to get gel nails and some beauty stuff to buy for my girlfriends in Singapore.
The steaks are so good. I love it so much and I had a fantastic time in the states visiting family and friends. I’m also happy that I got a cool laptop at affordable price. I will always carry in my heart the life lessons and conversations I had with family. I will make smarter decisions.
Thanks, family for hosting my summer vacation.
